our book the outsider is set in a town overwheled by gangs and violence between groups of teenagers the two major groups are the greasers a poor group of kids with long greasy hair who steal and commit crime to get by and the socs a group of rich kids who go out of there way to jump and attck the greasers and they have tension between the gangs and usally attack each other on sight.the characters are just trying to make ends meet and survive all the beef and tension between the gangs and other groups.
